Saimdang – Light’s Diary Episode 24 Spoiler, Theory: Lee Gyeom Threatens the King; Ex-Lovers to go into Hiding?

In Saimdang – Light’s Diary episode 24, Lee Gyeom (Song Seung-heon) pointed a sword to the king, threatening to kill him. On the other hand, Saimdang (Lee Young Ae) is seen working on her dream painting when Lee Gyeom comes to her.

In the episode teaser, it shows Lee Gyeom fighting swords with Min Chi Hyung — once again. The latter tells him that the king wants him dead. This will obviously tip off the royal relative. Then, he asks the latter where Saimdang is. It seems that he finally defeated the baddie this time. He then angrily asks how a king could order to kill an innocent woman. This is obviously addressed to the king, in the next scene of the teaser.

Afterward, Hweiumdang is seen pulling a knife in front of Saimdang. It seems that she is going to help Saimdang from her bounds and assist in escaping. After all, the former wants to save her children. By doing this, she just might just did the right thing.

Back to Lee Gyeom lamenting in front of the king, the latter tells him that he has to protect his authority. It is while Lee Gyeom pointed his sword threateningly against the king’s throat. However, Lee Gyeom would not kill the king. He could not simply do it. And yet, the king is going for his blood and Saimdang’s.

When Lee Gyeom would be out of the palace, perhaps escaping from the king’s soldiers after what he did, he is going to be chased as a criminal. The king even ordered for Biikdang to be shut down.

Later, Saimdang is seen running and hugging her children. She is advised by one of her children to go to Keumkangsan. Thus, she sets off to go there.

She is then seen painting. It looks like it is her dream painting. It is her own version of Ahn Kyun’s masterpiece. Then she sees Lee Gyeom coming. He says that it is late but he wants to keep his promise to paint by her side.

It seems that the two of them are truly trying to hide from the king’s wrath. However, with this, they are also fulfilling Saimdang’s lifelong wish to paint Keumkangsan.

Saimdang – Light’s Diary airs on SBS every Wednesday and Thursday at 10 p.m. KST. Episode 24 will air on April 19.
