The K2 Review: K-Drama that Unites Ji Chang Wook and Yoona

The K2 Korean drama just ended on Nov. 12 on tvN. However, its overall impact seemed to decline as the series came to its end. But it just a hearsay.

According to MobileNApps, Im Yoona was the one to blame for the dip of viewership ratings of the series. Nonetheless, it had garnered an average of 3.7125 percent from both AGB Nielsen Korea and TNS Media Korea. In addition to this, the Korean series also got followers from other countries aside from its local viewers.

Meanwhile, The K2 action drama series has united the Healer alum Ji Chang Wook and K-pop group Girls’ Generation member Yoona. The two became reportedly close when they were scheduled to film in Spain. This was to break the ice between the two as they had to share intimate scenes. Ji Chang Wook said that he invited Yoona for coffee to get to know her more better.

The K2 was about a soldier (Kim Je-Ha, played by Ji Chang Wook) who became a hired assassin when he was framed to kill an Iraqi woman that he cared about. He was on the run and met Gong Anna in Spain. She was on the run at the time, evading police officers who were sent by her stepmother to capture her and keep her a secret from the world. This was to protect her father who was running for the country’s president.

The overall portrayal of Ji Chang Wook and Yoona was heart-warming and moving. Even though the pairing was kind of unexpected, Director Kwak Jung Hwan and writer Jang Hyeok Rin made the love team adorable on screen.

The K2 also boasted other great actors such as Song Yoon-A (Choi Yoo Jin, Anna’s stepmother), Cho Seong-Ha (Anna’s father Jang Se-Joon), Kim Kap-Soo (as Park Gwan Soo, Jang’s political nemesis).
