I’m still looking forward to finishing a few games I haven’t got the time to finish in 2017. Last year were launched just too many lengthy and excellent titles to be able to finish them all. However, 2018 has started in force for the video game industry. There are several good games already launched in January 2018. Among them there are several new game releases for PC, 3 for 3DS, 2 for the Xbox One, 4 for the Nintendo Switch, and 9 for PS4.
Here is a list of what game titles came out in January 2018:
- Street Fighter V Arcade Edition – (PC, PS4)
- The Escapists 2 – (Nintendo Switch)
- Gintama Rumble – (PS4)
- Death Mark – (Switch, PS4)
- Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory (PS4, Vita)
- World to the West – (Nintendo Switch)
- Kirby Battle Royale – (3DS)
- The Inpatient – (PSVR) – Jan 23
- Lost Sphear – (PC, Switch, PS4)
- Railway Empire – (PC) – Jan 26
- Monster Hunter: World – (PS4, Xbox One)
- Dragon Ball FighterZ – (PC, PS4, Xbox One)
- Dissidia Final Fantasy NT – (PS4)
Here are the games that I’m excited to start playing first:
I can’t wait to start playing Street Fighter V Arcade Edition. I’m all excited about this game even if it’s just a re-release of something I have already played. But the original was good and I’m curious what is improved. The user interface is updated and the developer finally included the Arcade. They also added some characters not included t in the original game.
I didn’t try playing World to the West yet but I got a chance to see the graphics and it looks pretty good. The game also got great reviews from Steam users. In fact, the game is a 3D follow up to the 2D indie hit game title called Teslagrad. This action-adventure game looks like a perfect fit for the Nintendo Switch.
This sequel did not change much from the original. However, I find this a great fit for the Nintendo Switch and the basic premise of breaking out of prison is pretty cool as well.
Even if you can find many fighting games these days, a Dragon Ball Fighter 2 is pretty cool. Especially for the fans of these game series, this game would be a fun change of pace with its 2.5D 3vs3 fighter scenes.
From the makers of the popular JRPG I Am Setsuna, Lost Sphear has been developed by the makers of I Am Setsuna, a popular JRPG. The game seems to be a kind of modern-day Chrono Trigger. Its graphics look good and I think it would be lots of fun for those who like retro JRPGs and old school Final Fantasy games.
Monster Hunter World is the biggest title release of the month of January 2018. The seamless maps, no regional barriers to play with friends online, 4-player online co-op and to-date series’ best-looking graphics are a sure bet that a new generation of Monster Hunters will be born.
